Markree Castle, with its relaxed atmosphere, picture-perfect 500-acre grounds and luxury accommodation, provides the ideal location to celebrate a wedding, and the freedom to create a wedding you have always dreamed of.

On your wedding day, arrive by wedding car or if you want something more unique, arrive by boat to our boathouse, or by horse and carriage or on horseback through our ‘port la couer’ at the front of the castle.

Part of the uniqueness of Markree is that you and your guests use Markree Castle as you would your own home, with a drinks’ reception in the Grand Hall in front of the fire, a five-course banquet in our unique individual adjoining dining rooms and dancing in the specially designed entertainment suite, which features a Gin and Whiskey bar. It’s like a house party in a castle!

We could not be happier with their support and guidance from start to finish. Every query was answered quickly and everything we planned and hoped for was delivered on the day.
